G. Augustine Lynas is a freelance artist and a resident of Manhattan since 1965. He has a history in children’s book literature as a book designer for McGraw-Hill Book Company and art director for Lion Press. He is perhaps best known as a master sand sculptor. His book Sandsong, originally published by St. Martin’s Press is now available through Lynas Press. Mr. Lynas holds a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and taught Graphic Design and Communications as an adjunct at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn for twenty years. He enjoys inventing games and many useful things, plays professional level disc sports, does enrichment programs in NYC public schools and plays classical guitar for relaxation. He is a daily visitor to Central Park, almost always on his antique track bike. He is married and has three grown children and three grandchildren.
